GodSister here. I chose this name, cause I am that to a few frfr. and also i used to bartend, so i know that a God Father shoots a**holes (scotch & amaretto), a God Mother visits a**holes (vodka & amaretto), but can't remember what it was for God Sister... after looking on the net to no avail, i decided it should be - a God Sister writes a**holes (whiskey & amaretto). i am prolly one of the few that still takes the time to purchase stationery and handwrite letters. you may can tell i like being a mixologist, & while writing i just thought - if i make a God Sister, it would be good with Fireball, and since most of their drink recipes posted on their site have "balls" in the name, i'd call it God Sister Balls... God Sister with balls ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ [Kanye shrug] lqtm

anyhooo...
i know a little about coding, i can make a basic page. i enjoy doing graphic design, began that making cellphone wallpapers for my boostmobile chirp chirp. been a creator at IMVU for some time. i had a PC before it was popular, my 1st was an apple 2GS with the serious floppy discs.

i found this site years ago, looking for some info. stumbled on it again looking for something and at this moment i cant remember what it was either time, but i do remember this site being a very good resource. and while the entire world is on punishment, you may see me a bit.

ok, i recall a "thank you" script i got from someplace, to thank customers. i know then IMVU considered thanking customers to be spam. is this still the case? is the script still around someplace?

At one point of time, I remember there being an automated thank you script that was a product page script made via JavaScript; triggered when the buy now button was clicked.

IMVU staff blocked adding JavaScript to product pages back in 2009, to protect against vulnerabilities opened up by dynamic user submitted content, so that script no longer exists.

However ...

I assume it should still be possible to code up a software program that you can feed your daily creator report into, and have said software send out a message to each customer listed in the report.

I know back in 2008, a developer named "Kimi" https://avatars.imvu.com/Kimi use to give people a script to do something like this ... but you had to send her a message asking for it. There were also several other developers around that time who use to brag about having similar scripts, which they fed their developer reports into. I think scripts such as those required being ran on a web server, and required hard coding your username / password into the script.

Yes, IMVU did classify those messages as spam, but I think some people got around the anti spamming rules by making the script automatically send the customer a badge or an IMVU group invite instead.

Here are all of the old archived threads I have covering the subject:
