IMVU cash for credits option.

Hi everyone

First off, I want to apologize if this is in the wrong section, I wasnt quite sure where to put it.

Reason Im making this thread is because I want to discuss getting cash from IMVU for my credits, because Im considering signing up for it, but I have some questions that I dont feel safe asking on the IMVU site.

Below is a list of things Im worried Id be banned for, if I signed up for it, as they will inspect my entire catalog for products breaking the rules, and they even say you can potentially be disabled for it on the agreement.

1) When I created my account, I put junk info, a throw away email (which has since been changed), and fake age. What Im concerned about is, will I be in trouble for lying about my age? I put it younger than I actually am, but it has always been over 18, since day 1. (age set to 23 on day 1)

2) A few of my products are derived from removed poses, not found in catalog now. Pretty sure they were all pervy, but not sure if they were UFI. Mine are hidden and unpublished.

3) At one point, I derived from a legitimate GA item (a lower body size "rep" for women) to create a pair of panties. I added some black market poses to them, and they have since been removed. Is this detectable now that the poses are removed?

4) I have a large collection of voiceboxes created by other people, most of which have only 1 or 2 sounds on it that i like. I used audacity to record those sounds, (random movie quotes and etc) from my speakers, and created a compilation, and set it to hidden so I dont profit on it. IMVU stated in the agreement that 1 of the things theyre looking for during account verification, is "copy" products. Is mine considered a copy, even if I recorded these sounds myself, and not ripped them from the product, illegally?

5) I am planning to focus on dances with song clips attached to the animations, are these acceptable by IMVUs standards?

6) This ones a bit out there, but Ive read stories on here about developers being disabled for cashing out too much money. Is there any merit to this?

I feel like I might have UFI on my account, and stuff IMVU considers to be a "copy" product, in my catalog. They said they might ban for it if need be, but does anyone know the deciding factors in that?
I really dont want to lose my account, for attempting to make money off credits in a legitimate manner.

Do you feel any of the concerns I posted above, can get me banned? And if so, is there any way to break them, or delete them so theyre gone? or so IMVU cant tell what was once in it?

Any ideas, responses, etc is much appreciated!
thanks!

I appreciate the response, however it doesnt really address any of my concerns.

I am not sure if any of my products disagree with IMVUs terms, and I do not actually rip other products (only derive from derivables), and lastly I do want my catalog in the public eye, so I can hopefully make some money on the side with it.

But I want to do it under IMVUs terms, with the cash for credits option they provide, but Im not looking to get disabled for the concerns I mentioned in the first post.

If you or anyone could give me some insight on my concerns, Id be thrilled.

Thanks for your reply, and thanks in advance for any further replies to my thread.

If you wish to continue to pursue cash payout, here is my response.

Mathematically, cash payout is a rip off. Earnings are drastically diminished and not worth it, in my opinion. You earn $.40/1000cr and can only receive minimum payout of $50 at a time into a paypal account only. So a creator has to have earned 125,000cr through only product sales or derives. Paypal charges no fee to withdraw(yay savings there!) to a US bank, but if youre out of the US and withdrawing to nonUS bank you get dinged a fee. Be aware, IMVU will charge you a $5 for the 3rd payout if made in 30day period. Then theres a maximum withdrawal cap figuring that uses their MASA system, but for those making shitload or suspicious large swing.

The payouts are earnings which are then taxable. They will send you a 1099-Misc at yearend, i dont know if imvu sends one if you earn less than $600. At least that was what i was taught in school and the 1099-Misc are then subject to social security and medicare taxes. And since you are considered self-employed the rates are 12.4% and 2.9% accordingly. Then federal tax will be taken on the rest.

Non US resident get screwed 30% is taken upfront depending if their country has a treaty with the US amount could be less. The US government still wants their portion.

In the end, my math at the lowest tax bracket your 40 cents has turned into 30 cents. i wish you success. I just want you to be fully aware what little it earns.

To address your concerns:

I have not experienced any problem with this. However, the verification you will be asked for full name, physical address (no PO Box), phone#, paypal id, and tax id (usually your SSN).

Part of the verification is they going through your catalog including hidden and unpublished. They can still preview hidden items. Only reason you were not reported previous is bc it has been kept out of the public eye from being flagged by other users and brought attention to them. May want to verify that your product conform to TOS.

Bit confused by this. Poses removed or imvu removed product because item breaks TOS? I've changed my meshes completely so i doubt they know what original work was. Though verification is a one time deal ;) Only got to get permission now to change a mesh if it's been derived.

IMVU's verification uses an algorithm that only detects similarities in meshes and animation. Voiceboxes i don't know if they have something for that. Problem i see is you may encounter is the original owner claiming their digital work and filing a DMCA against you. You yourself admitted above to using recordings "created by other". Perhaps you saying you "recorded" to replace "ripped" may justify to you but

Suppose for now you're ok with this plan. As IMVU gets away from royalty shit with sound clips since it is under 20 second bites. But lots of things change through the years.

That made me laugh! I cry bullshit on that!

If you had UFI, i would assume you would definitely know this.

I am not a bad actor and run a legit show, as many do here. But if you need help identifying what is and what is not in your products, there are many who can help here with that. If you want i can look at your catalog. But i do suggest you study the TOS. Unforunately, IMVU does have the power to disable at will and it doesnt have to be just over catalog items.
