Trying to create a second account...

problem: my friend is trying to create a second imvu account but it keeps getting disabled.

as far as i know, they are not doing anything against the TOS and haven't been banned before, tho they did have a couple of other accounts disabled while using an older version of t3de (before the latest security fixes), but in each case it was a second account. my friend is always using a separate email address for these accounts.

the pattern now seems to be that the second account works for about a day and then gets disabled. this has now happened twice in a row.

i suppose that IMVU could be flagging the account coming from the same IP, but i've made a second account from the same IP and never seen this kind of problem. i think many people create second accounts for various reasons.

the only other possibility i can think of is that one time i created a second account and then passed it to my friend, and we live in different countries. i guess it's possible(?) that imvu considers this some kind of issue and flagged my friend's IP, tho if that were the case then i don't see how anybody could transfer/sell accounts (e.g., grandfathered AP).

if anybody has any suggestions or tricks to avoid this for making a second account, i'd greatly appreciate it, thanks!

The transfer of an account is strictly prohibited by IMVU's ToS:
You may not sell, transfer, give, or otherwise surrender your account or account password to another party.

Just sayin'

Your friend may want to try using a VPN to mask their IP. I personally know of one instance where this helped a friend of mine get back on VU after being banned for life.

This person might not like it but they might need to close their internet provider or if there going thru a mobile provider close their account out and start a new one up under another family members name as account holder. They can change ISP providers or Mobile Provider or get a second Mobile line with another Provider short term if under contract. Just some ideas'.

I think just closing you ISP out and reopen it or call your ISP provider and ask them to change it and let them know you ran into some problems with connections and would like to have it changed what are the steps that need to be taken.

Have they tried to call MV to see if they could resolve the problem over the phone by calling them? Unless they make an effort in taken steps to resolve issues the easy way first sometime you can make a problem harder than it really is. (Not saying this is you.)

MV as I have said many times now have a better system and they know how many accounts you have and had and your not allowed more then 2 accounts altho many still do I guess until a problem comes up. So no matter what you do mv in the long run will find out who you are and how many accounts you have. They know what sites you visit and what programs you run on your system or had. Talk about hackers lol Why do people do that? Hope I was some help. GL

I tried to find the message thread from back then when my friend was banned but wasn't able to (before I got bored looking - lol) but as I remember, he faced 4 challenges. One was obviously VU had recorded his IP which the VPN helped to mask, second was his credit card and he wound up getting an electronic gift card to bypass that, third, which I can't remember the specifics of, but it was something similar to what PayPal uses that tracks (and I have heard both versions) either your MAC address which is more difficult to hide or your hard disk serial number which I don't know how to change/mask or if that is even possible shy of getting a new hard drive. I'm also not sure how anyone would get that particular bit of information (hard disk serial number) remotely. Maybe with a super cookie grabbing local info and relaying it back?? Possibly. The last challenge was VU uses a third party service whose name I have forgotten that tracks web logons for service providers like VU. What info they are able to provide I don't know. Don or DM may know the company/service. I have simply forgotten the name :(.

I THINK it may have been these guys: "Redvine SD-WAN, provides bandwidth expansion as well as direct optimal access to enterprise and cloud applications and data. It also enables virtual services insertion in cloud and on premise."

1) Switch to a different internet browser. Examples: IE, Chrome, FireFox
2) Mask your ip with a VPN
3) Run a script blocker addon
4) Only use mafia clients
5) Only pay for stuff on IMVU with gift cards
6) Run software to update your hardware ID's

yes! I want to know too. Never heard of changing hardware ID, only heard of using a vpn and tor browser.
Maybe buying a cheap account and using a vpn could work too. I say try making an account on mobile and using it there for a bit, then see if using it on pc with a vpn still causes an issue. Also, I hate imvu support but you can always call and ask them why they keep disabling accounts. 18667610975 IMVU Support.
