I'm thinking it would be spectacular if IMVU ventured into the world of virtual reality. It's been a while since IMVU received any significant upgrades, and what better way to refresh it than with a 3D version that allows us to immerse ourselves even more in the game. The idea of experiencing missions two and three in a three-dimensional environment sounds thrilling and could attract an even wider audience. What do you think?

i think you exspect far too much from imvu. its a old war horse of the vr world . it havent got any real upgrades because it owners dont want it to be upgraded . its making them money just how it is. besides there still trying to recoup there loss's from giving brent his walking papers. think of the size of that goldened parachute they had to give the founder of imvu to bugger off and keep his big mouth shut about imvu. i also heard they had to buy that crappy third rate napster rip off of a music player off him since he owned it seprately from imvu. think how much cash they bled to do all that?? and this is after brent fired the orginal chief programmer of imvu a few years back. think of that severence check ..... so there cash poor with a bunch of third rate programmers trying desperatly trying to keep it running ..... and here you are asking for 3D !!! whats next you want smell-O- vision? imvu is a glorified chat room that been build up piecemail to what it is now, a demented shanty town of bad or worse programing ... talk to second life or the other newer vr games there laught in your face as well. its not going to happen. sorry but thats the facts.

Yeah, I understand everything you're saying, but let's entertain a hypothetical scenario where none of this happened... It would be something fantastical, something to imagine, an IMVU 2.0, but keeping both active. But of course, there are other chat platforms... I was just saying it as a 'imagine if'.

i get you. but if i could have anything on imvu.. a wishlist of things. i'd want to happen 3D would be on page 3 or 4 of it. there so many updates or improvement that imvu could use before ripping the whole system up to allow us to wear silly goggles and look like morons to every one. what about better music or a truely fair and honest ap? or the return of the resellers or fair treatment of the devs or a advisory panel of players to assist the company efforts to drag this game in to the future. or a overall update of the whole system not a patch here or there. we both have pipedreams for this game. mine are more sane then yours. mine mite happen in to because they want to keep making money off it. yours are more based on a childs "" I WANT! "" with no concern of cost or reality..... we all want a better imvu .. but you must start with the small cheap things first and build up not leap to a 2.0 version that mite take there 3rd rate prommgramers years to do and it would be a whole new world of buggy hell where we have to buy everything again you know they wouldnt allow us to keep are old stuff. they make it so we have to buy the updated versions of it all. i have been imvu for 16-17 years with the same account and same name thru out. think what that would cost me to replace every thing or even just what things i like ! close to 4000 songs on there music play. the cost of that alone mite make me just give up, so just look for the real the maybes they could do instead of wishing for mircles to happen or just go to a new- 3D vr game if theres one out there. besides brent nearly cripples imvu with his mad dreams for next and beta desk top. there not going to try something as big as those or bigger for years to come. till imvu is the cash cow it used to be for them there not going to do anything more then what they have to to keep it running. its simple biz if it dont make you 10x more cash then you put in it its not time to muck with it.to us its a world a lifestyle a game are place are world to them its cold hard cash. so please take no offence but please get real.

IMVU made a VR demo like a decade ago and never did anything with it. IMVU has a very high turnover rate. Most of the code their developers write ... never sees the light of day. Internal projects are liberally canceled.

even more reason were never see it on imvu the staff and the Don's arent in sinc. project mite as well be pipedreams anything that would cost the company is cancelled before they get out of r@d.this is a bizz for the powers that be.. not a world or a passion.

And you know something about that code, or some "beta" of something strange that you can tell us, I find it interesting... the truth is that I like imvu as it is and it doesn't matter what it is later on, but the curiosity that It could have been or what they had in mind drives me crazy

One of the IMVU engineers posted pictures of a demo on their blog. Back in the day, IMVU use to encourage their engineers to blog about what they were working on. The only thing I know about the code is that they duplicated the existing graphics for each eye piece on the vr goggles. The blog went into detail about duplicate images to service each of the viewer's eyes.

Imvu could treat its users better, stop banning accounts for no reason, just because someone on the team thought that perhaps the user had violated the rules, but they don't explain what those rules are, and also be more agile in returning the accounts to the rightful owners. stolen, when these owners prove through documents that they really are the owners of the account, the imvu team does what it wants and doesn't give a damn about the users, especially those from other countries who cannot take imvu to court.

Yeah IMVU is too greedy to do that properly unfortunately. Someone like SL will probably beat them to it.
