seems like a lot of hard work and steps which i dont have the patience for

No worries... Thanks for trying to troubleshoot it. Shared room is not actually the same as a Public room. It connects the inventory of two users to be able to use the items within the room...rearrange furniture and such. The two users have a direct key to the room with the tab on the main screen. Once you click inside that Shared room and you look at that card, there is no way to manipulate the data on that card. Even from the https://www.imvu.com/shared_rooms/ there isn't a place to add or change information. I'm sure it's one of the many loose ends of IMVU.
