1#.There is a few things to look at. How long has she been on imvu? Woman really know how to fix up avi's, most men don't with out help. 2#. Is she willing to skype with you one time just to let you hear her voice, not saying you have to go thru with it but is she willing to do it and let her set the time and day that would work best. That would say alot right there because most woman want to feel safe as well and if you both feel something special between you then what is there to hide? 3rd#. Is her age verify? It is a step showing some proof to what she told imvu MIGHT be true. 4th. Yes it is normal in imvu to RP a different gender then your actual one. If your only relationship with them is an RP sim you shouldn't assume any information your get is RL information. They could be portraying a character completely different then themselves. If you feel uncomfortable or bad vibes then maybe this girl isn't the one for you. Relationships are built on trust, but keep in mind your talking about a virtual reality game site where people come play out their fantasies and some just come to relax and meet and chat. So bottom line if people cant say they know someone like your girlfriend in rl and you havent met her in rl then just play it by ear. Listen for clues and see if trust can build. Also why they will do that for long time period, Understandable for short period for prank or stalking thing. If they are opposite gender for long time, it means something suspicious and time to make some distance.

lol who would put their faith in IMVU. OMG!!! wake up people. IMVU is a game site, NOT real life. People are so fake on IMVU its so unreal. You put your faith in that site you be hurt and then some.

I don't know if any one else said this, but a website called imvu-e could help you identify it as well. If you go to view profile card their original gender that they used when signed up will show. Another way is to also go to the Find People tab search their name (if they have the option enabled to be found) will show a blue/pink icon. Blue being a male, while pink is a female. Sometimes it will say a female for their gender but their original gender they used before changing it will will pop up. So you may see a Blue Icon with the letter "F" shown informing you that they signed up with a guy originally, but changed it to a female.

I don't know if it works for those who have used the option to hide gender.
