This is part three of the publication 'PROTECT IT: Strengthening and Securing Your IMVU Avatar Account.' Unlike the other 2 parts, in this post I will explain how IMVU can ban you as a creator for making mistakes against the terms and conditions.

When browsing through the IMVU store, it's common to notice that some products we've saved or previously purchased display the creator's name followed by '-Deleted' or '-Disabled.' What many people may not know is that there are various types of bans for these creators, ranging from warnings to permanent account bans. Below, I'll provide a list and explanations of why these bans occur, along with tips on how to avoid them.

Product takedowns and DMCA notices from another creator.

  1. The products that are taken down are mostly because the rules regarding GA/AP are not followed, leading some creators to mistakenly check the simple box indicating whether a product is for general public or AP access.

One of the most common errors mentioned above is not checking the box that determines the target audience for the product. However, aside from this, some creators do not cover the red textures, which serve as a guide to indicate the extent to which a product is AP or GA. This can result in, during peer review, when someone checks the product, seeing these red textures and immediately flagging it as sexual content. Consequently, the product may be taken down or even your account suspended for 15 days, meaning you'll lose 15 days without being able to create/sell, resulting in lost earnings. Please be very careful with these warnings because from my own experience, I received only three warnings before being permanently banned.

Note: Check the furniture and poses carefully, because often they are marked as GA, thinking they are not very sexual, and then IMVU detects them as AP, so if you are unsure about these poses or furniture, it's better to mark them as AP before regretting it.
  2. Another reason why the product may be canceled is due to DMCA.
Another reason why they can cancel the product is due to DMCA... this occurs when unauthorized textures from another creator are copied, either with a texture extractor, or because the creator himself did not authorize use textures to derive them. Another way that the DMCA can be given is by real life brands (Gucci, Jordan, Louis Vuitton, Disney, etc.). This type of DMCA is more complicated since they permanently ban your account and you will not be able to recover it.

NOTE: To avoid these types of DMCA bans, due to the use of inappropriate textures from another creator, always avoid using texture extractors... if you want to do so, change the texture very well or try to hide the copy very well.
And in case you want to avoid the DMCA by well-known brands and you also want to use them, change the name of those brands, instead of saying nike, say nika or do not copy the logo in the same way, try to disguise it by changing them.

For sure, I was wondering why some of the clothes i bought, I couldn’t end up seeing that creators shop anymore, thought it had something to do with them not having VIP.

When the entire store disappears it is because it was banned, but if you were not banned you can buy the products with a few steps
