Unlocking Account

Is there a reliable way to either unlock a restricted account, or bypass the lock to be able to purchase things?

I have a pretty successful dev account that got locked after trying to transfer credits. I bought the account from someone on-site and have all the details for the account and it's previous owners. Apparently the account had been locked previously, but easily unlocked again on the reseller's end. It makes enough credits to sustain itself, so it'd be a giant waste to have it remain as-is.

The dilemma? I don't really want to provide my actual ID and credentials to IMVU to unlock it. 1. Because I outright don't trust them with that information security. 2. Because the last thing I want is my main account to get locked and then I cannot provide my actual ID to unlock it. Knowing my luck, that would happen. There's also the fact my ID wouldn't match the credentials and information of the account's previous owner(s) which would surely lead to it being banned - then I'm out an account and my money.

I already tried contacting IMVU and providing them with the information I was given about the account and it's original owner, so it's probably gonna look weird if I suddenly provide my ID that contradicts that info. They insisted on providing ID evidence, so I'm not sure what my options are at this point. Any advice?

Solution for Unlocking a Restricted Developer Account

I’m in a similar situation where a dev account I bought got restricted after a credit transfer. Here’s what I’d recommend based on experience:

Ask the Seller for Their ID
Reach out to the person who sold you the account and ask for a photo of their ID or the necessary verification details. Offer to pay them a small fee for their time if needed—it’s worth it if the account is valuable.

Negotiate with IMVU
If you can’t get the ID, try contacting IMVU and offer to pay a fine to unlock it. I’ve paid $20 before to get my main account back after IMVU flagged direct credits from a supplier.

Avoid Using Your Own ID
Since your ID won’t match the account info, it’s better not to submit it. Stick with the original owner’s details to avoid contradictions.

If the account generates good income, it’s worth the effort to recover. Just avoid h4c|<s or risky tools—those could get it banned permanently.

Good luck!
