Sure! I don't know the exact classification of it, but I guess the IMVU mobile app has always been rated as "Teen" or the equivalent of. Well, more recently they've changed that classification to "Adult", which means the app has been disallowed in certain countries and spaces. It means they would've had to submit things to the app storefronts to have it looked over and vetted to make sure it's still allowed on those stores, etc. Ultimately it means less potential revenue for IMVU, since the app can no longer be marketed or presented as teen-friendly.
Think of it like the difference between 12+ or 16+ games and movies, or M rating - to an R rating or hard 18+. It takes time for everything to be submitted and okay'd by the app stores though, which is why I think the release will be very soon. IMVU wouldn't submit those files and claims unless it's pretty much ready to go, since it means they have a smaller audience and a harder sell to consumers. Remember their shareholders and money is everything to them, so they're not gonna lose out on a buck, investors and potential new users for nothing. (And this move to AP+
will have lost them a few investors who don't want to associate with explicit platforms and material.)
If you didn't know, when games receive content updates, they also have to do a similar thing of submitting all the files and content to Sony, MS, Steam, etc before it gets the greenlight.
