not sure how many people on vu have ap+ currently but i saw that 2 people on my friend list have the ap+ beta badge....so that's something....i spoke to one of them and he said that they lowered the prices of items to like 7k, 6k, etc. under 20k now which is good but it's still alot...

A great idea executed poorly and with greed, way too late in the day. It would've been better if they did AP+ years ago when the community was larger and demand was higher and price might've been lower. In it's current form, or at least what I saw of the Beta, it's just a desperate cash grab banking on people's horniness. I want it to improve for other people's sake, but I hope it backfires as a "fuck you" to IMVU as a company.

I'm not going to pay those prices in a million years with the black market here and Second Life in the other hand.

To actually answer , though: AP+ is currently live in public beta, or being rolled out in waves. There's an option to buy it in Next (probably on mobile too). If you're in the US, you might be able to buy it already. I don't recommend it however.

Ah good ol' greedy IMVU. The fact that you have to be let in during the soft launch is ridiculous. If both people need AP+...here's a scenario you are in a mono relationship...one of you gets accepted and the other doesn't... Well good job wasting a slot for beta users VU. This is bound to be a complete flop like so many other stupid ideas IMVU has had to grab at cash. I think the reasons are:

• It's another subscription when so many of us are stuck to VIP as is. Even as a grandfathered dev if I want cash payouts I have to pay for VIP. I'm not paying even $5/mo and I see plenty of others opting not to either especially when the black market exists.


• Those prices are excessive to say the least. The average user is gonnna afford what? A couple things maybe? I have plenty of friends who bought their name and AP and refuse to drop another dime and subsist on offers. While that's extreme there are many people that aren't going to want to pay ANOTHER sub especially with a chaotic economy.


• Literally all anyone has to do is a simple Google search to find the BM and the prices are so good compared to this BS. It's not like the BM is a secret, even if you don't use it you know it exists if you've been on VU a couple months.


• Restricted access to creators. Veteran creator of 10+ years specializing in AP items. I applied.....and never heard back. I'm sure many others have as well. It's like greeters and "influencers." They open up these opportunities but give ZERO criteria. You're either in or out on their whim. Hard to try and work up to doing something when they're not transparent. I mean they still don't tell us numbers for tier points.


• The requirement of two AP+ users is going to do what happens to so many dating sites. Men are going to sign up in droves, buy triggers and poses....and female avis can legit get away with wearing stuff from normal AP so why should they join exactly?. It's gonna be a sausage fest and there is going to be a lot of angry people.

So I doubt this experiment lasts very long. I'm expecting they will eventually let it die on it's own from disuse and not advertise or push it due to all the problems that are going to come of it. It's just another cash grab and so many of us users know exactly how IMVU is and always will be.

You're so right about every single word you said.. i have the same theory about the whole topic/situation of that ugly ass idea of making AP+ it would die within less than a year i believe so, i don't think people should purchase the membership for that because ofcourse the more people buys that the more motivation for imvu greedy ass company to continue with their greed (since the community pays for anything and dont give a damn).

100% the community on IMVU eats up some of the dumbest shit. Overpriced badge canvasses and room slots being one of the grossest offenders in my opinion currently. But IMVU knows this too. They can roll out half-assed ideas and they will always have customers and defenders.
