As many of you may or may not know, we have been working on an update to our market. This update will not only bring a much needed visual overhaul but add some new functionality and information.

We believe the update is almost ready to be released. To make sure everything is working and we haven't overlooked anything we're looking for volunteers to try out the new market and report any bugs you may find.

If you would like to beta test the new market and you meet the requirements below, leave a reply here and I will contact you via PM.

Requirements
  • Your account must be older than few weeks.
  • You must have more than 10 posts.
  • You have a general understanding of the internet and how webpages work (meaning you know how to click on things etc..)
  • You must be serious about providing feedback.

Alright, I'm ready when you set everything up.

Alright, where do I start?

Inquiries: About PRB and REG. I saw some products with $12 dollars PRB and the rest either said PRB $10 Dollars or Reg $10 dollars, vice versa. I don't know if that something old or intended but when I bought from the Black Market shop it normally was lay out to of the cost under dollar sign and USD.

Bugs: I don't know if this a bug or had to do with Adblock; but I try to test out the buy function for credits and came up a notification saying "ad is here" or something along those lines at the end of checkout in a blank page. I don't know if that was implemented before or new but that's the first time I came up with something like that. That could possibly be a coding error within the end of checkout page.

Another thing I am unsure of was the fact that there were no pictures uploaded yet for the advertise products. I don't think that was a bug or anything. I believe you intended that way since it still under beta testing.

Pros: I compare the two pages from past tense and now just to see differences. I found out that everything looks more polished now. I like that everything was layout separately and not compressed together. It Seem to be more neat having layouts and panels. I saw you took out the search bar under search type or haven't implemented it yet. I never use that function for anything. Most likely it probably was useless even though you had a search bar on top of the shop for search products. Under the title "Newest Products!!" You can just put one exclamation mark and that's enough to get your point across. Just a little disclaimer. Oh, I almost forgot about the Wishlist function you added. I thought that was neat of you to add to the store and make it more accessible instead having to click the product and do it through there.

Cons: I saw you took off underlining in the titles for the products being advertise. I thought that made it more understandable and neat. Also You should keep the view counter and not remove it permanently. That way people get a estimate of views or clicks. About the font. Didn't like the font personally and probably a self opinion. But did you use Times New roman or courier New? If I was going to choose a font it be Courier New.

Suggest: If it was me, one thing I would love to see you do is to add the number of sales under the product rather when you click the product. You can also add a rating system for the products in the store. Maybe in the future you can also add a verified or voucher system as well so people know who to trust and buy from. One last thing is start charging people to sell in your website. The amount of money people make on here is crazy. Or at least take out a percentage. There are so many things you can do to make this more better economically. you can add a 1 time subscription service or even make it where people have to reach a certain amount of posts or time within the website. That is all.

@DataMine Hopefully, I got you thinking about future adjustments or adjustments for even now. Thank you for letting me take place in this beta testing. :)

Prices in the beta market have been changed so you can no longer type in whatever you want. You can only pick from dollars, credits or medits. Only ads created recently are using this new price scheme. So old ads still have the old prices. This is something that will be phased out in a few months.

Always turn off adblock when using our market, it causes issues due to the words "ad" and "advertisement".

That is a WIP page.

Don has not uploaded thumbnails for his products yet, that is something he will do when the new market is released so right now all of his ads are using the "no thumbnail" image.

Yeah, in my opinion underlines only server to let you know something is clickable but I personally think it looks ugly and redundant. If people prefer them underlined I could change it.

Don and I discussed this. We didn't think it was all that useful to anyone. Is it really something you guys use?

Killanoise wrote:

It uses our site's default font which is verdana, sans-serif and arial.

Do you mean the number of products the seller has?

That is what the karma system is for. We are working to make the karma system easier to use so you can give karma to good sellers and take it away from bad ones.

At the moment that is not something we can do due to technical limitations of the site and lack of time by staff to administer that. The only possible solution would be to require Mafia VIP to post an ad but I am not sure if Don would agree to that.

I'm glad you think it's more polished, that was one of my goals. I'm also glad you like how you can wishlist and add to cart now without clicking on the ad first.

Glad to know there are future adjustments coming.

I saw after trying to reenact the ad error, I didn't come up with that error. I figure it had to be adblock.
DataMine wrote:That is a WIP page.
What is a WIP page? Care to explain?
DataMine wrote:Don has not uploaded thumbnails for his products yet, that is something he will do when the new market is released so right now all of his ads are using the "no thumbnail" image.
That would explain why there were no thumbnails uploaded yet.

Well, you would have to make a poll and see the results you get back.
DataMine wrote:Don and I discussed this. We didn't think it was all that useful to anyone. Is it really something you guys use?
Personally I thought it made the site look more polished. But to each is own.
DataMine wrote:It uses our site's default font which is verdana, sans-serif and arial.
Have you tried to use other fronts? Did you do any testing to see which look more saturated and revealing? Some font's can actually help the site look more polish.
DataMine wrote:Do you mean the number of products the seller has?
No, I meant the number of a products said person sold or even that too. I know you can find a way to implement that to the Black Market shop.
DataMine wrote:That is what the karma system is for. We are working to make the karma system easier to use so you can give karma to good sellers and take it away from bad ones.
Okay, how well has that system worked for you guys? It seem that the system can be loop hole or mistreated incorrectly. People do not follow by TOS. I figure a system like that can be more arbitrary rather then used positively. This is why I suggest the number of sales or a voucher system. Where people have to vouch for that person. You can get a moderator to do the vouching. That way it is more trust worthy and safer.
DataMine wrote:At the moment that is not something we can do due to technical limitations of the site and lack of time by staff to administer that. The only possible solution would be to require Mafia VIP to post an ad but I am not sure if Don would agree to that.
How would he not agree to it? It's not like it destroys the websites traffic. You getting visitors everyday from random locations. Even people using VPNS to bypass bans and what not. At least you can do is make a require post count, Mafia VIP or get a recommendation from one of the mods on here.
DataMine Wrote:I'm glad you think it's more polished, that was one of my goals. I'm also glad you like how you can wishlist and add to cart now without clicking on the ad first.
Yes, I love what you did with that. I thought that made it more sufficient and less redundant. I'm glad that you are proud of your work. I know you are busy and don't have time to work on things due to in real life errands. But keep up the good work. Lastly, I didn't put this in the last post but I am going to say it anyways. I love what you did with the product advertisement. Where the views once were and said person name. You put the name under the product where the product is being advertise with the product type included. Thought that made the site seem professional.
