age randomly changed??

my vu friend had his age randomly changed from 20 to 16....he has no idea how it happened! he didn't do anything to change it to 16...he already tried filing a case ticket but all he got was an email for a temporary ban for admitting that his account does not match his real age. he did not even say that...he just asked why my age changed? in the ticket file. his account has been on hold for like forever so he can't buy anything if he even wanted to.

Sounds like a case of human error by customer support. They probably typo'd someone else's name and changed his age instead. That, or he RP'd as a younger character and someone reported the chat ... I've seen bans for that before, but never an automatic age change. I don't know. That is weird. Maybe you can use google cache or the wayback machine to prove that his age was set to 20.

i asked him if he's been reported before and he said he has a bunch of times but not for incorrect age. luckily his case ticket is still open but he needs them to reply first but he's willing to send a photo of his ID to prove his age. he never rp as a young character.

update: he now got perma banned before he could see that they replied on his case... :kat_emoji1:

the emails were sent like 1 second apart...

I know the feelings there,IMVU are very unhelpful when it comes to issues regarding age on your account.

I had an account years ago, when I made the account I made myself a few years older as I was 16. When I was about 20, my account age was saying I was 26, I asked IMVU if they could change it to my real age and I got banned for 999 days. Fortunately at the time that's what their max ban was if you didn't get disabled right away.

They've never compromised well on the age thing, when it comes to a possible minor using an adults account, and they always react harshly without investigating it properly.
