They use it too stop automated spammer's.. etc.. only thing I know but I think it was removed not sure though =l

Spamming chat? Spamming pulse? Spamming messages? Spamming what?

The IMVU client does use recaptcha on its pulse, that's when you comment on someone's pulse several times.

Nope it doesn't.
You can access pulse with client and if that counts,pulse uses recaptcha.

IMVU Pulse DOES use ReCaptcha after a user comments on someone's pulse multiple times or uses pulse multiple times over a set amount of time/ set amount of pulses.
