Someone pirated my girlfriend's IMVU account. I saw someone else get online with it while she was right here in the room with me. She has sent a help ticket to IMVU, but they have changed the password AND email associated with the account, and are claiming to have bought it from a website. Is there anything else you guys can do? It would be very appreciated.

Can you find out the website the Claimant said it was bought from?

and for my own curiosity was the account a 4 Letter Word or a Five Letter word?
One something to do with a soft drink, and the other could be an activity?

My bet would be to hound IMVU until you get it back, they'll probably take a week to reply to you if you're not a VIP Member though. Considering it's probably one of those no-account ones it'll probably take a few days, try phoning them.

And to Quote the great and powerful Don Von Free Credits.

They have changed the email associated with her account as I said, and she has filed a help ticket, she's hounding IMVU about it. They wouldn't tell her where they bought the account from, and no it isn't what you think it is. After she confronted them they went offline.

I'm not really sure what else we can do, I wouldn't be asking the Mafias for help if I could fix it myself.

Well uh, if she can prove she's the Original Owner, IMVU normally give it back, even if they changed the e-mail.

Normally you can do that by providing the Original E-Mail associated with the account and your name on the account, they may ask you to provide proof it's her, so I would say get a scanned copy of her I.D. Ready. (If she used a fake name..then uh, Good luck. and hope they don't ask.)

And..Did she not get an e-mail from IMVU saying you have changed your e-mail address?

Cause normally you can hit a link that says something like "I didn't do this" that they give in the e-mail.

At least they use to have it.

Well, she got into her old email, but it was yahoo. -.- So the email account had deactivated from disuse, and she has NOTHING in her email. I don't know what the hell else to do.

Ah, that's a shame, a good thing to do is never let your accounts get de-activated when related to a site like IMVU. But since she has it, she at least has the proof to say it's her e-mail account, that at least is useful.

Could of been worse, they could of h4c|<7d the e-mail account and taken it as well.

I'm sure Don Von will chime in once he's got the time, he may be able to do and provide more than I ever will be.

I'm not in a rush, or a hurry, really. I mean yeah, it's my girlfriend we're talking about, but we both have our priorities straight. If we just can't get it back, we just can't get it back.

Help would be nice, but I ain't gonna raise hell and annoy anyone for it.
