Humz... I have so many fav. games...
Half-life 2
I remember the first time I played the first Half-life... damn I loved it. Now with better and realistic graphics its really cool playing it, basicaly we are knowed as Gordon Freeman(G.F), also the main protagonist of the Half-life series, in this game we get the impression that G.F is somewhat a symbol of hope for other characters. In the Half-life 2 unniverse, the world is under an dictatorship, where the popular live in bad conditions and can't even breed because the dictator thinks its better so humans don't over-populate the world. Freeman, like the name says, its the man of freedom and the one whom obeys no one. Therefore our main objective is to help others, free them of these conditions and rules, however, we must fight soldiers and even mechanical alien forms. Don't think that its too easy, we have a long road, but don't worry, along the path we will find vehicules wich we can drive
and ofc, zombies. In Ravenholm, I get the feeling someone had their heads filled with too much Resident Evil
The story is good, has good graphics, and a faily ammout of fun.
Doom 3
Many people complain that its too dark, well I say its fine the way it is. The darkness kinda makes our most basic incstint be aware of the minimal movement around us, in this game its no different, because literally every corner can give us an heart attack!! We never know when a monster or a zombie is about to appear, and sometimes we can only hear the footsteps or breaths, we know something is there, but we can't see it without the flashlight. In this game we can only use either the flashlight or a weapon, since the flashlight sucks for damage, whenever we grab the gun we better get ready to fire in every direction! Its really awsome that in the game later on, we can acess portals with ancient technology that takes us to Hell, and I mean it! Monsters in the game are demons, and there is always around pentagrams, candles and bloods from sacrifices.
Once again, like in the older Doom game, we face our selfs saving Mars from the Hell spawn
The graphics are pretty good, the story is reasonable and we have lots of fun, so yea Doom 3 is good.
Prototype
It has fenomenous graphics, the way the character transforms into non-human forms, the several type of visions(thermal and infected), the possibility to kill and destroy anything its the best part of the game. It has a very well developed story and it never ends, after we completed the main quest, we can still play it. It has many little games/quests so we don't get bored very quickly. We can consume any person and gain his/her form and memories, wich can be usefull for driving special transports, like tanks or helicopters. One thing I noticed is that we can give super jumps, fly for a period of time, run vertically walls in any direction, fall from the tallest height and we don't get damage, its soo cool! The transformations is very well done, we can almost feel the rage of smashing, whipping, cutting people and things in our path! And my favourite super-power, is the habilty to make huge mass spikes appear from the ground and stab anyone within range!
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines
Probably the longest game I ever played, an RPG where we can do almost anything and endure the consequences of it. We can choose our character from a rebel to a lunatic, a ugly vampire form to a beatifull one, a vampire mage or even a wealthy vampire and each one will be treated diferently towards others. The nosferatu, for example, its so ugly that can't be seen by mortals without breaking the masquerade(rule that mortals can't know about vampires existance), an malkavian or lunatic, have a very special speech that sometimes, the voices in his/her head will help towards the quests.
Has many side-quests, we can choose to be a good vampire or a bad one, we can interact with others by many ways (persuasion, seduction, intimidation and even using vampire powers on them), we have many misteries along the way, we can choose to join the "political" organizations or not. The game make us live with the doubt that we might desploit the destruction of the world. We travel from low-life sub-urbans and sewers to rich mansions, meet ghosts, werewolves, mages, zombies... It has a fairly good story, I personally wish there was a continuation, but I don't think I'm that lucky, at least not for a few years, the graphics are not like Prototype or Doom 3 but they're still good.
Silent Hill 2,3,4,5
Probably the best horror games sequel I ever played. The graphics are pretty good for its ambience, their foggy nature and a bit of camera noise makes it look like we are watching an horror movie where we can't know what is about to pop up on us. The best part is defenitly the music, I don't even know how to classify it, they are so deep, sad, melacholical, scary, mysterious, nostalgic, some almost like a battle theme... they are perfect for each situation of the game.
Silent Hill is a game that appeal us to our inner demons, its a small town that started to be the center of an religious cult and turned into a portal to a different dimension of flesh, blood and nightmares. Mostly, the monsters represent a bit of the character most deep fears, worries, hidden truths and sins. I would't suggest it for weaked hearts, these games contain several disturbing scenes, like the carrosel with alive flesh horses stabed in the poles andll breathing in the third game. It has really twisted creatures and stuff, but this is what makes it so special
and the producers dind't forgot the puzzles along the way, yes the second game have the hardest puzzles... it was a pain in my ass when I played it for the first time >.< who would say that "Henry is really slow..."
"Scott can´t stop, he´s always on the go" would be a reference to the hours and seconds!?
Still I love SH games
