Leaning on your experience...do's/don'ts

Am looking into & researching building own computer from scratch. Mainly to be used for gaming and making youtube vids. I realize could get pricey but would like to stay reasonable in costs the most bang for my $$. This project will take awhile for me to accomplish. Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

First of all what size of chassis are you looking for your computer to be? Do you care if it's on the larger side or are you looking for something you can move around easily? Also what games are you looking to run?

I'd be happy to offer any input I can. I have some experience myself as well as resources to get you the information you are wanting.

Edit: I realize this post is quite old, but I am still willing to help if it is needed.
