Unexpected Luck

Here is a story for you all:
I don't consider myself to be an extremely lucky person. This story I am about to share is something that I joke around about with my dad on a regular basis.

So... I was working for my dad over the summer about 4 years back or so and I was tasked with helping shut down the computers so that we could back up our information server at the end of the day. I've not really worked with servers outside of this instance so feel free to fill me in. Anyways, my dad had a very particular way of shutting down the computers, so that when he backed up the server it "wouldn't crash". So I was doing my usual end of the day procedures and went to go prep the server for back up. My dad comes running down the hall and says to me "You didn't start did you?" I just looked at him and before I could respond he said "Damn it, you forgot to power down one of the computers in the network." There wasn't much I could do at that point, so I just went back to my tasks for closing. To my dad's surprise, the server never crashed (he swears it crashes every time a computer, besides the server, doesn't get shut down). I felt extremely lucky, we had a lot of valuable information for our clients. Note: it was a clinic and all of our records were electronic.

The end
