I make this post for us to share our negative experiences in certain online gaming communities.
Particularly I have spent many years at IMVU, Habbo hotel and mnf club, being moderator in the latter.

Sometimes it is difficult for me to understand how it is That in most of these communities we are all adults and should be mature enough to keep a community together, but it's quite the opposite. Many are carried away by The aesthetic or money and leave you aside or insult you for not being like them, this happens not only here, but in MOBAs like league of legends or dota, I would like to know what they think about it.

Around half of people have tribal caveman brains that tell them that life is a them vs us competition, and to fear anything that is not a part of the us. Attack the them to protect the us. In their minds, anything different or changing is bad ... and obviously wants to hurt our children or take away our way of life. So they destroy the outsiders, so they do not harm the tribe or steal precious resources. These cave people live in panicked fear instead of understanding and love ...

Fear leads to anger, anger to hate, hate to darkness.

That's a good way to see it lol.
It's like "man protect territory, man insult" with caveman mentality xD.

I think it's best to ignore those kinds of people and surround yourself only with those who are really worthwhile, those toxic groups will always exist.

Also Call of duty. There are a lot of Call of Duty titles out there. From Warzone, Vanguard, and CoD Mobile players to the remaining Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare fans, there is no shortage of people devoted to the FPS franchise.

As it turns out, that player base isn’t just committed to clicking heads and editing loadouts. They also appear to be the most dedicated, across all gaming communities, to… toxicity.

A new study from Wordtips dove into the social media data across thousands of tweets and hundreds of followers, for a number of gaming and entertainment communities. This led to a clear conclusion: CoD fans are more negative than any other game’s.

Scientifically proven, the most toxic gaming community is in League of Legends. All players are toxic; they insult you if you play poorly, if you die, if you lose, if you win, or even if you choose something unconventional. There's no escaping insults. there will always be someone ready to make your life difficult in and out of the game. Some even go as far as repeatedly dying just to make you lose, somehow finding satisfaction in it.

Sadly that's something that's always been around on IMVU and to much lesser degree SL as well. Though in some ways I have fond memories of the pizza parlour during my early days of VU. The whole street kids vs emo kids thing was chaotic to put it lightly, but in a kind of fun, not-too-serious and no filter way like MW2 lobbies back in the day. A lot of shit talking, really and no-one got offended for more than 10 minutes before forgetting it mattered. I think it's more a matter of cliques and posing now though; do you 'fit in' or 'look meta' - to the point that being silent, moody and brooding is a factor, which just baffles me. It's like a highschool mentality, but in a place where the only thing that should matter is personality, of which many these days lack. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the glory days or being too laid-back.

VU people can be pretty bad, but I wouldn't consider it/them gaming. In terms of gaming-gaming and stuff that I've played? Gotta be GTA Online. So few people there over my years playing it before giving it up were actually chill or nice. You've got the inhumanly inept that struggle with basic, common-sense things, you've got bad sportmanship everywhere, you've got friendly-fire style griefing and you've got the try-hard style of griefing (who ironically have a lot in common with the moody 'meta' clique types on IMVU - even down the faux-grunge aesthetic.) It's just a whole lot of negativity, it isn't worth it and it's silly considering how much of a casual game GTA is, or should be if you discount the inane grind it turned into.

My wildcard would be Escape From Tarkov. Just yikes when it comes to noxious vibes and elitism.

Going to say Star Trek Fleet Command ... players try to shame anyone who actually uses the pvp functionality in the game. They act like you are the worst person in the world for destroying another person's unprotected mining ship.
