That feels like a pretty heated and dare I say close-minded take. I actually find it to be the opposite situation, so I fear maybe your own preferences and prejudices might be clouding your view a little? I still come across a bunch of furry rooms, about as many as in years gone. Not something I'm into, so it's hard to say for sure given it's something I don't search for. I'd expect there to be less now though, since the general IMVU population is very low compared to what it used to be; common denomination and all that. I don't visit public rooms super often these days, so I couldn't tell you how people are acting now, but the general consensus seems to be that cliqueyness and 'silent types' are at an all time high right now. Both among friends and general VU users I've seen and spoken to so I'll take their word for it if that's what you mean by people being assholes. Then again, I think there's a lot more assholes in the world in general these days then there used to be. Again, partly a generational thing, but moreover I just feel people have become a LOT more antagonistic and overly-comfy in using the internet as a safety blanket to treat others poorly, or scream bloody murder when someone dares to have a different opinion or view. Personally, I think everyone needs to chill out more.
While I don't think the "colour" of a room is, or should ever be relevant, I feel pretty confidently it's the polar opposite. I mean "BBC" has been the cookie cutter, overdone NSFW room tag for years now which in of itself kind of gives you your answer. Likewise there's a metric ton of "black" rooms if you're into urban culture and all that jazz. Always has been, but I'd argue more than ever since mobile took off and that's still the case. Very common to see people of varying race and skin shades in more general rooms as well. I don't think IMVU's ever not been multicultural and I'm all for it. (Pizza Parlour circa 2010-12 comes to mind.) Infact I'd argue there's an immense degree of the 'newer' IMVU catalogue that's been catered specifically towards people of non-white descent. Honestly, it's about time it finally took off more so people have more options, but it can be a downside if you want things that are explicitly non-black, like certain types or styles of hair, etc. Pros and cons, right? Or moderation, I guess.
One thing I will say it there does seem to be a lot less general roleplay rooms, especially when it comes to vampire stuff. You're absolutely right there. I think that's partly due to changing times in terms of vampires just not being considered all that cool anymore and newer generations that just aren't into it as a part of pop culture. It's the same as zombie stuff, it just isn't popular anymore, not since the early days of TWD and before. Couple that with a lot of the older and original users leaving (or being banned for ridiculous reasons) and boom, you have a lot less creative and adventurous rooms like vamp stuff.
