I don't really like mangas, but my favorite one is Golden Boy.

I HIGHLY suggest Elfen Lied.
My favorite so far
it's not too long, but it's a great story.
very mature and action packed.
nudity, but its not really sexual. to anyone who cares about that.
lots of blood >:]
