Since there's been an influx of people using AI to not only write their entire posts, but also to write multi paragraph slop to farm medits, I am adding a new rule.
No using AI to write your posts.

That’s fair. no one wants to scroll through endless walls of recycled mush. Though to be honest, I've seen plenty of multi-paragraph slop that didn’t need AI to get there. Hopefully the new rule catches the actual low-effort stuff and not just people trying to articulate something clearly.

Solid rule honestly. While AI has it's uses...abusing forums really ain't it. Medits aren't even hard to get, just be active and do lottery. Pretty simple. Can you imagine if AI like GPT had been around for like geocities or angelfire.... God it would have ruined so many old RP havens.

If it were only up to me, I'd be a lot stricter on what we allowed people to post here. Don and I have differing views on what we want the forums to be so we've had to compromise.

AI is certainly useful but as with most technology, it's being corrupted/abused by people. The majority of people using AI to write all or most of their posts are doing so to farm medits, which is against our rules whether you used AI or not, so it's plainly obvious those people are not at all interested in contributing to the community so I have no problem getting rid of them. Regardless of the reason though as you said it ruins the community

Compromise is important, especially in a group setting. I personally think the forums are in a good spot, would like to see a bit more life on some of the more random topics but that's not really anything any individual can do tbh. Idk might try to see if posting new topics in some may do anything. Might just ultimately need a nudge, ya know?
As for the AI. Sadly it's not just technology, humans have a wonderful tendency to ruin anything good they end up with as individuals and as a whole. It's almost like it's hardwired in us on some level.
