Ok saw the gimp tutorials thingy but didn't have permissions there so posting this here.
I wanted to help on people cause i tried to make this work for a long time and now found a easy way to make the smoke effect on gimp.
Probably most of you already know this but for those who don't..
1. Make a new image or if you already have one then make a new layer, and make it transparent if you're adding smoke and black or white if a new pic.I added so i named my new layer smoke.
2. Take the biggest round brush you have the round 19 and draw a straight vertical line with white, black or gray test and see which works best.
3. Go to blur and use Gaussian blur or what ever it is in the English one, and use 35 to blur the line.
and then
4. Go to the same place again and use iWarp and use it to make it twist, bigger at some points, smaller at some until it seems like smoke. Remember to make the bottom thinner than the upper part so it looks realistic and then press OK and wait for it to load, since it can take pretty long.
and then
In the end you should get something like this But you can always make it anyway you like.
Sorry if its a bit weird but that's just because in mine everything is in Finnish, and had to find names for these in other tutorials.
