In order to keep up with our ever growing community, we the IMVU Mafias are upgrading our main server. This has been made possible by all of the donations that have been given to us by our ever supportive members. During the next 96 hours, prepare for our website to slow down a bit as computing power is syphoned to backup and transfer our massive database / community. There will be up to 3 hours of total downtime during which the site will not be accessible. Watchbot and all other bots will be up and working normally as they are not located on our main server. Database backup systems will also be working normally, as those are run on our backup servers in Russia / Korea, so there is no fear of loss of data during the server transfer. If downtime ever exceeds 2 consecutive hours, our backup servers will kick in and the site will be back up.

After the transfer, there will be massive changes made to our site as myself and Underdon Datamine update the core of our website, making way for impressive new systems. Systems that will be updated over the next month include:
* Mafia Credits - bug fixes
* Mafia Shop - new items
* Aracde - complete re-haul
* Forums - security patches + new features + bug fixes
* IMVU Groups 2.0 - major bug fixes
* Social Network - notification system + bug fixes + speed upgrade
* Mailing system - mailing lists & weekly member email which have been down for almost a year now are coming back
* Ourtube - video submission - project temporarily canceled
* Shoutbox - speed upgrade & sound effects
* Member Search - more options & search parameters are being added
* Image Display - zoom in + zoom out + auto resize
* Video Display - complete rehaul
* IMVUfm - revive
* Blogs - bug fixes + themes
* IMVU Mafias Wars - turn incrementing + mafia credits integration - postponed till summer of 2012
* Much Much More!

Data loss is expected to be minimal during the updates to our systems. Friends lists and arcade scores may be reset in order to comply with a new more computation efficient data formats.

The new server is up!

We are still experiencing some technical difficulties while we work out the bugs and get settled in our new server, but our team of experienced scientists are more than up for the task. Our first mass email in almost a year was just sent out, updating everyone on our progress.

I seemed to have ran into a hiccup as the servers changed and it ended up locking me out of my old account. It didn't take away much, only had about 5 posts so it didn't really effect me any, just letting you know that it's happening because I know if it happened to me it most likely happened to others. But things seem to be moving a lot faster for me now than before the server change so I'm liking it so far, yay

When did you make your account?

This one I made after the fact but as for the other I don't really know when I made it exactly. I made it, then I went inactive immediately afterwards for a few weeks, then I came back and the server changed. I changed my password like 5 times on the other one and it never emailed me the new pw message, that's why I ended up making this account.

I think our email system is currently bugged on the new server.
We are working to fix that.
