Well, my wireless card on my laptop has been going bad for a while now. It fails to turn on with my computer sometimes. Along with that, it just does not pick up signals from as far away as it use to. It will even randomly stop picking up signals every now and then till I restart my computer. The card is internal and about 4 years old.

So, I decided to buy an external wireless card to replace it. I have three slots on my laptop. One slot is labeled SD, another is labeled PRO, and the third largest lost is not labeled. I tried to look up my computer's spec's, which told me that the third slot is a PCI slot.

Well, I went onto ebay to find an external wireless card that I can plug into one of these slots. I typed into the ebay search, "Laptop wireless PCI", which gave me this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWNX:IT

The card got to me really fast, but...it does not fit in the hole! Can someone please explain to me what I did wrong. I am a computer scientist, not an engineer. What is this hole and what can I stick in it?

I'm not sure but think you'll have to specify the number of pins in the slot.

I do not see pins inside of any of these holes, just a flashy green light deep inside of the largest.

Can someone please help me fill my holes?
Google gave some funny suggestions: http://www.google.com/search?rlz=1T4ADF ... =663&uss=1

It's an ExpressCard slot. Looks like your laptop supports 34mm formfactor.

This should work for the current card you already bought: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6839200010

Yes, I was hoping to give a few laughs, laughs in return for helping me.

[12:18:55 PM] DM: it plugs into the slot in your picture

[12:19:11 PM] DM: its a lot smaller than it looks
[12:19:17 PM] Don Fetiche: Oh, kk.
[12:19:31 PM] Don Fetiche: It should work then.

[12:20:05 PM] Don Fetiche: You filled my hole...with another hole DM! :)
[12:20:15 PM] Don Fetiche: A bigger hole!
[12:21:42 PM] Don Fetiche: Do not mind me..., my mind is too perverted for human interaction.
