How should I start off?

I'm planning to learn VB and myBB but I'm not really sure how to start off.
Can somebody tell me on which way I should proceed?

For vb, download Visual Studio: Here. Then go to Youtube and watch videos starting with this playlist: Here. After that, check websites that offer pieces of code (Here and Here) and learn from those. Then just practice and do trial and error.
