Okay so my parentz took my laptop and decided to put parental controlz on it o.O lame lame LAME!! im 17 n they put parental controlz o.O stupid crap. but they restored my whole comp n everything got erased off it n they installed McAfee on it. itz password protected so what ever i do on my comp i need to ask permission for like for downloadz n thingz like that. well i installed imvu n it didnt ask for permission so i was like YAYYY!! it installed just fine n i signed in n everything was good till i took a closer look o.O for some reason i cant see anything. like everything is installed right except i cant see my avatar o.O i click my inventory and nothing is there. my buddylist is gone it says 0/0. i thought maybe i got h4c|<7d but people are telling me im on their buddylist n they see me online. i got a lot of missed chat invitez n i didnt even see them!! i tried to invite someone but it said avatar name doesnt exist or somethin like tht n when i click CHAT NOW! it says UNKNOWN. when i try to click on profile on the new imvu client it says there was a problem opening it up. idk watz wrong with it!! im thinkin McAfee might have somethin to do with it n if so idk how to fix it!! i dnt get how imvu is installed perfectly fine yet i cant access anything on it. i can visit the imvu homepages with no problem. but the client wont work. HELP ME PLZ!!! ive been imvuless for like for like 4 weekz now...drivin me crazy :[ i even signed into my friendz account to see maybe if minez messedup but no, same thing happened...plz help..itz all blank :[

If you tried another account, the one from you're friend, and it still doest work then the problem its with you're pc. I suggest you either format it, or try to see if its Vista, sometimes Vista secures a lot of stuff and ask for permission million times... Either way try to chat with you're parents about it, 17 years old they should know you don't need such babysitting... unless you really screwed up something :/ ... since your still a minor and in they're house, just talk to them.
McAfee is an anti-virus, they probably ordered it to work in "high security"... it might be blocking some scripts necessary to play IMVU, have you tried to upgrade everything a comp needs to work correctly? I mean directX 9.0, java, actualization of scripts, etc?

Unistall and install it again.. oh and try playing with a older version of imvu, if you haven't played about 1 month then you might not know the changes that imvu had, but its tottaly diferent now.
I knowsome people that complain that they cant play in the newer versions, so it must be that.

Oh boy, I love this situation. My parents tried to do the same to me, so I hackedzored the hell out of them. Let's start by getting control of your computer back.

Possible ways of getting regaining control of your computer when mommy and daddy go too far:

1) install a key logger, start up the key logger, and ask your parents to type in the password for something they would approve of (the key logger will record the password for you to look at)

2) Log into the secret admin account, all window's computers have a super secret admin account which you can unlock and take over the computer with; tell me if your computer is XP or VISTA and I will give you instructions on how to unlock the uber ultimate admin account (I love this method)

3) Boot up the computer in linux off of a CD, Extract the password files, and decode the password files (this might require a second PC to make the boot CD and decode the password files...depending on if your computer will let you download the files)

OHH MYYY!!! :O I DIDNT KNO ALL THIS lmaooo i have windows vista LOL. they tell me everything i do on here getz sent to their email but im not stupid i know tha only way they can see wat im doin is if they get on the administratorz account which their too lazy to do LOL! they jst try to scare me. i really REALLY wanna regain control of my computer cuz i feel like im in jail LOL! itz horrible hahahaa and my my my slow down and tell me wat to do step by step hahahahaha! and just incase they do look thru my history, give me direct download linkz so it doesnt look fishey...
