Run the IMVU Client through a proxy, bypass bans

If IMVU has already IP banned you: Reformat your computer and then follow this guide, it will get you around IMVU ip bans. I tried doing it without reformatting and some how they still knew it was me, though there are a few members who have pointed out that if someone else registers the account for you or it is made over tor, you can still get in without reformatting. This does not cover hardware / software bans, just networking level bans!

If IMVU has not IP banned you: You do not need to reformat your computer, just follow this guide to prevent IMVU from tracking your IP.

Optional: Download Tor Browser: https://www.torproject.org/download/dow ... sy.html.en

Step 1: download proxifier standard edition here: http://www.proxifier.com/download.htm (Pro Edition here: http://www.mediafire.com/?92j10095h31ccdk)

Step 2: install proxifier standard or cracked edition

Step 3: run proxifier standard or cracked edition

Step 4: enter a key if you have one or continue the 31 day free trial

Step 5: CTRL+N - this will start a new profile

Step 6: Profile > Proxy Servers > Add...

Step 7: Go here for a list of free proxy servers: Here or Here or Here

There are about 1.5 thousand free proxies listed on this website. The first 5 proxies on each page are proxies that you have to pay to use, but every proxy below the first 5 proxies on each page is free. Choose a proxy with low latency, preferably below 700. I do not suggest proxies from China, Other asian countries, nor the middle east because most of those proxies filter their content due to local governments / laws...etc. Some of the proxies are owned by schools, so you will get parent controls blocking some sites. If this happens, just choose a new proxy.

If you can not find a working proxy, you can often download proxy lists from file sharing networks.

Step 8: Enter the ip address & port for your chosen proxy

Step 9: Choose HTTPS as your protocol; you may need to change this for some programs, but most will accept HTTP

Step 10: OK > OK

Step 11: Check your new ip address here: http://whatismyipaddress.com/

Step 12: if your new ip address checks out, you can now run the IMVU client as you normally would
I suggest testing with a dummy account through, in case the ip of the proxy is ip banned. For better protection, use IMVULite: viewtopic.php?f=140&t=8013

Video Example:

Note: If you are someone who is in need of this tutorial, you should be using IMVULite instead of the regular client to log into IMVU: viewtopic.php?f=140&t=8013

Make the account with tor. You don't need to reformat to do this. I did it in just a few minutes and I have the client open now.

I also didn't even add a proxy. I just installed the program and ran Imvu. I am using the full version though.

So wait I have a question, I used TOR and it does work well for IMVU etc.. but the proxies why not use VPN's also? It's a better masking and well also writing how too mask your IP over a few times including whatever else you lay on top.

If you can get a VPN to get you around client ip bans, then please do share, but so far I have not known anyone who got that to work...

When I first read the subject of the thread, I thought: 'This must be about Proxifier.'
I used Proxifier to play Vindictus USA and bypass their regional ban. That was before a year when the EU version of the game wasn't out yet.

Great idea using it for IMVU.
Lol, how did I not think of it myself..
