I also thought it's a female. The girly red hat says it all...
I love that Carl seems politcorrect, yet so dangerous and violent.
And, there were stabbing wounds also on the man's stomach, yet Carl said he stabbed him in chest.

I just sat and watched this with my twin. We laughed at them all, especially the last one.
