When you click "add mesh" it asks for an ID number.
Depending on what number you give the mesh ID, it will place the mesh somewhere different.
For example, there is a number for accessories, but I forget what the number is.
Then, once you set the ID number, you can go into the config tab and attach the mesh to an avatar node (a section of the avatar) if you wish. For example, a penis is normally attached to PelvisNode.

He may need to do more, I know that when I make accessories with Sketchup, it requires a plugin that properly weights the mesh to the correct bone during export. I am not sure how to do it with 3ds Max though.

But here's the Sketch-up tutorial though in-case it will be of any help: http://www.imvu.com/creators/education_ ... id=7134721

Yea i was thinking something like this along the lines aswell. i was thinking maybe it was a step i forgot to do with in 3dsmax. such as having to weigh the mesh befor exporting.. i have tried to do that aswel tho. and same results appear. im not sure what im doing wrong, but i will find out soon. Thnx for the help.
