I didn't think deleting the Updater file would work but it's good to know for sure, thanks for all your work.

And while I'm still thinking about it, always learn from my mistakes guys. I had a fresh install of XP Black edition on the laptop. By default, Windows file folders are always hidden because they think it stops h4xx0rz. So you have to go into folder options and unhide everything. I actually knew this, but this brings me to lesson #2: Don't let your personal life get in the way of your life as a mobster. An unclouded mind is needed for even the simplest tasks.

UPDATE: After playing around with things, I've realized that the "updater.exe" has nothing to do with client updates. It's the .exe that updates the scene you're in, ergo; your room, the chatroom, "try product" in shopping, and "view in 3D" in the peer review scenario. I don't know if anything beneficial will come of knowing this, but I thought it was interesting and worth mentioning.

UPDATE II: Create mode won't work. You get an error that says the client version's no longer supported and "please update to the latest client version" meow meow meow... Lamesauce...

Kinda sucks... client version 458 has the .XML file, but editing it does nothing...

Yeah they recently announced that.

How do you even download clients in IMVU? As displayed in the poll.

You can use any version as long as IMVU hasn't blocked server access to it. I am not sure which versions still work, you'd have to try them.

The clients posted here are only for Mac and Windows. You could run one of them on Linux through emulation software, however they are normally buggy. It has been over a year since I last tried to run IMVU via Wine so it may be better now.
