I wasn't sure where to place this, so I figured in the open for all to see would be fine. Perhaps more viewers means the issue is resolved faster. My jpegs are corrupted. When I try and open them with photoshop, I receive the message:

Could not complete your request because an
unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found.

The only option to click is OK, the image never loads.

Some say that the fix is to load it with paint. That also does not work.
Paint tells you:

Paint cannot read this file.
This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported.

So is there a way to unlock this jpeg image, or is it forever corrupt?

Not all jpg's on my pc are corrupt by the way, just this one particular image

Just zip them up and then send them to me in a pm or upload them to mediafire or something.

You might as well wanna download a converter that allows you to convert files to bitmap format.

The error message you are receiving is due to the format you are trying to open is not a valid format for paint or photoshop
You may try one if the following solutions to open the file.

1. Try download software that supports .SNAG format and open it.
2. Convert the existing format into .bmp or any other paint supportable format and open again.
This may actually work in your situation if ur lucky.

I guess I have faced similar issue. How I resolved it? I use another image editing program( low-ended) to open it then saved it into PSD format (photopshop format) :)
