I was having a discussion earlier about ways of adverting your products without trying to force them to the front page. While the front page is 1 of the best places to get your products noticed, it's impossible for everyone to be on it. And frankly, I am tried of people trying to cheat their way to the front page by using bots, mass gifting or any other means.

So, lets discuss some ways you can advertise your products without being on the front page.


1. Advertise on your homepage. This will make your products visible to everyone who comes across your homepage.

Option 1: Put clickable image links on your profile that link back to your products.


Option 2: Embed an html catalog on your profile. Visit this thread for some examples: viewtopic.php?f=105&t=8533

Option 3: Use an iframe to embed your catalog page on your profile.



2. Advertise on your product pages.

Option 1: Put a clickable html link back to your catalog on your product page. Not all your visitors will come from your catalog or IMVU. Some people may come from a search engine like Google or another website. This gives them an easy way to find your catalog.

Option 2: Put clickable image links on your product page either displaying other products you've created that are related to the product your viewer is currently looking at or display a couple non related products.


3. Advertise on Pulse
Send out a pulse when you make a new product or just let your friends know that you have a catalog. But don't spam!

4. Gift your product
Option 1: Go into public rooms and gift people your product. This works well with clothing items. Think of it: if people wear your product in a public room, there's a chance other people in the room with ask about it or see it in the "products in scene" page. These people will also tell there friends.

Option 2: Gift your product to your friends. Ask them to share it with their friends and son on so fourth..

I'd also add:

1~ Get involved in Groups or Forums. Be an active member and post your new products there. Have a clickable banner/signature when posting in forum and group threads. Just dont spam it.

2~ If fortunate enough, when VIP's got badges dont forget to use clickable banner through that. Have notice so many lead to no where.

3~ Wear what you made. Allow your outfit to be viewable when entering rooms wearing your own creations. Post view public streams displaying your product. Or get involved in DOC wearing your products.

4~ Advertise outside onto other sites facebook. Theres sites that you pay but pushes out to 30 other sites. Within IMVU theres shoutout or paying to be on opening shop page.

5~ IMPORTANT: For me, especially when perusing catalog is to HAVE A DAMN CATY PIC ICON OF YOUR PRODUCT!!!! Have good tags for words that people search for so your products escalate to the top of their search.
