phew, I was finally able to recover my password to the site, sorry if this is the wrong section! Im sorta a noob when it comes to using the site, Ive only really used it in the past for purchasing some stuff from the Don.

Anyways, I just wanted to see if anyone has any opinions on the whole "retired" accounts IMVU has been doing.....

I went on a pretty long hiatus from IMVU, and in my absence, this has been implemented at some point.
at first I wasnt really sure what the difference between this and "disabled" was but Ive got the general idea now.

I contacted IMVU over this, because I noticed a major flaw in this...
It seems, Were not allowed to purchase products made by retired devs anymore.... OR from disabled devs.

Okay, thats cool, IMVU, seems like a really dumb move on their part, I mean, I was gonna buy credits until I seen half my wishlist cant even be purchased now, such a terrible business decision, Id say.

But why leave all these products visible in the catalog? Its making shopping a serious hassle now.

So whats the mafia think of this move?
Another question being, am I going to get banned for extracting the .chkn file from these disabled or retired devs, and submitting them to the shop myself? I feel like the catalog lost alot of great products, from an entire generation of IMVU devs. Is it even ethical to do this?

I mean, Im not about ripping off other devs, I just want a way for some great products to be saved, from inactive accounts is all, but Im not looking for a ban for it.

Retired means you bought guest_ off your name, but someone else wants your name so they used a name change token and made a help ticket asking for your name.
Then staff puts _retired on your name and lets that person change their username to yours.
Usually you lose access to your account this way.

Well about your question regarding disabled accs and related items, I am a disabled mesher, and I generated more than 500 exclusive items, and I can assure you I'm not died, would do you like someone steal your stuff? I can make DMCAs even I got banned, so isn't wise to steal these items.

That's just my opinion though, and am agree with you about dumb staff is making, they should erase all these useless items or better, to stop their derivability from who was to derive them and left them open.

If what you said is true, thats not good at all, are there any limits to that? It can happen to someone who logs in every few days? or do they have to be inactive for a period of time?

If this has no limits, players can essentially pay money, to screw someone out of their account?

and yea sorry I forgot to add, like I said Im not into plundering peoples works, just kinda annoyed that half my wishlist isnt purchasable anymore, because IMVU made us unable to buy products from disabled or retired accounts.

I hate to see alot of great products just die like this.

Id never want to do it to profit from it, Id only want to do it so I can personally have the product, since IMVU screwed me out of getting to purchase it :/

Yeah they have to be inactive for a certain period of time.

Looked into disabled account of mine due to imvu saying i broke TOS, it now has _retired following name. From what i understood disabled acc due to breaking TOS that names would no longer be able to be used. Is this not correct?

Now that i see acc now says retired, is it possible for me to ask for my account back and reinstated? Would love to see if i can get it back. Would anyone know if this is possible?

You might be able to just register an account by that name now.

I read an IMVU message some time ago that said if the member is inactive for 2 years IMVU will do that their account.

I've also saw posts like that, all of them say 1 year or 2 years, so I dont know the certain time atleast you need to be off in order that someone can ticket to get your username
