Hello,
1) Someone sent me a link and asked me to vote for him, when i opened the link IMVU log in page popped up, i wrote my username and password and as soon as i loged in a strange page appeared. I knew it was a h4c|< so i tried to change my password very quick but it didn't worked. I've been loged out from IMVU and when i tried to log in again it said that the username and password don't match. I then tried to change my password with my email adress but it said that my email was not registered. I made another account on the same email and wrote a ticket to IMVU ( I didn't confirm my email for this new account )
2) There is no way I can't access my account and i really want it back. I don't know what else to do and i hope you could help.
3) Sadly i can't remember the persons name.

Best regards.

Is the support line available in weekends too ?

The only thing you can do is contact imvu help by pressing " Help"
Image .
Then press get support or something .
You will need to give them all the information you can think about the account such as first and last name you used on it (if you filled it out since now it doesn't ask for a name when making a account ) the email address used on the account before if got changed , if you bought anything tell them what you bought and the credit cards last 4 digits or paypal email , the address on the paypal email. Basically anything you can tell them about the account tell them everything just to show that you owned it .
Then imvu will reset the email address and password for you . Calling them won't help since they only accept billing issues and this is not a billing issue so it's rally not worth using up your minutes just to get a dropped call and that does happen a lot if it's a non billing issue .
We wish you luck and we will be here to support you .

P.s you can file the ticket under VIP support for a faster responce they don;t check if you are a VIP or not and they reply within 2 days maybe faster .
Also they only work from monday to friday so they won't responce on weekends.

You can file a ticket on a weekend but they will only reply on a week day (mon-fri) .

Never click on links from strangers and be careful when "friends" send them to you. I hope you learned a lesson from this.

Never login into anything with your account that is not on the imvu.com domain. Always inspect the url if you are not 100% familiar with the site.

The Same situation happened to me about 5 months ago: A good friend came to me and told me he was starting to do badges and wanted me to check out the picture of his firs tone he had done to get my opinion on it. Mind you I have know this guy for a couple years as well as talked IRL. So I trusted him and the link looked very legit. Well Once I clicked on it I did not even have to put in my password or anytihng ZAPP I was cooked.

I immediately called IMVU and yes select billing and you actually get to talk to a live person who will fix your account right then and there after a few things are done. First you will have to send proof that you are the orginal person who created the account by a passport or DL. Then you have to verify the orginal email on the account. Mind ya you have to jump through alot of hoops to prove the account was orginally yours. One you have verified that you are then you will be asked to change your email account as that was compromised as well. then they will send you a new password and then you retake your account. Most of the time not all depends on how fast the credits move. You will get all of them back.

Now after all this had happened, I wrote a real long post in Pulse about that person and what they were doing to people warning others to not even talk to that person. I had also called my friend who was traveling at the time and was not aware what was going on with his account. Somehow someone was able to get into his account while he was not on line for a couple weeks and then pretending to be him and going after all his friends on his list. Needless to say My Friend contacted IMVU and got them to suspend his account until he could get back home to verify that it was his account etc.

Now not to mention the half a day that who ever had my account they also went around to friends on my friends list and tried suckering them as well. Luckily a couple on my friends list know how to contact me IRL and called me, which I was already aware that my account had been compromised. But it does show that sometimes having good friends that can get ahold of you in some fashion is good to let you know something is hinky with your account.

So best advice be prepared to verify and never click on anyones link no matter a friend or not. QUE to a scam if it asks you for a Login name and a Password more likely it is a scam to take your account

I'm sorry this happened, man. But let this be a lesson learned. If there is a suspicious looking link, never open it. Hopefully you can get your account back through calling the IMVU support number 866-761-0975 let them know what happened. Specify what products you've purchased on that account as well as previous e-mail before it got changed. Best of luck to you, hope this never happens again.
