Sigh........ Guys do research before you buy from sellers. Check if they have posts in the forum. check if the have karma. check how long they been a member. check their activity on a whole. Do not buy from those sellers with little or no ratings. Hope this is sorted out.

I was scammed from this user as well a while back. I paid for the account and I was given correct login details (shocker) however the account was taken back somehow.

The somehow is actually very easy like Sekeze did with me. 12 minutes after I changed the account name, password and email, I received this email from IMVU support:

Your IMVU Account Recovery
Thank you for contacting us. Your new temporary password is below:
Your avatar name: XXXXXXX
Your temporary password: XXXXXXX
After you log back into your account, please remember to change your password immediately.

So they sell it to you, wait for you to access it, then file an account recovery ticket and take it back. That easy.

As much as it sounds like a good idea to buy an account. Really that's something that I wouldn't even dabble in unless it was from a serious reputable member because if something like this. Just like @cysia said, look for things like how long they've been a member, how many posts if they are an active member and karma. Having karma and comments can give you a great idea of if they are a trustworthy seller.

Or maybe just decide having a couple of extra grandfathered creator accounts just isn't worth the hassle even if they would be useful uploading 'certain' products that could get your main disabled - lol.

Its possible to buy accounts, I bought my main 7 years ago from an old member here but they were trustworthy. But yeah, it's a common scam to take the account back after receiving the money.

I bought two grandfather accounts here but i paid credits for those accounts.... the sellers were new. They took 50k each so it was a good deal. if they did scam me then it would be okay, i did not loose any money and i caught two scammers red handed :tlasuspicious:

But i did not get scam and still got the two accounts collecting spider web... thought i would have time to create on them but i thought wrong :kat_emoji1:

True true. It just seems like such a hassle for it.

Also, keeping grandfathered accounts in storage just for BM products isn't worth it because they remove your grandfathered status if you don't upload a product after a certain time frame.

I did not know that, that's helpful thanks DM. I would have uploaded at least one non-BM product/month anyway just to keep it active. I've already lost three accounts that I let lie dormant for so long IMVU won't reactivate them. Even if IMVU said yes, I no longer have the emails, names, etc. they would ask for so...

For now I'm going to wait for a reputable seller as suggested by both
@MizzKitty
and
@cysia
before trying again.
