IMVU hair repainting? help?

Is there anyone with gimp that does imvu repaints/edits and does hair of all colors I have been editing for a year and no matter how hard I try I still tend to struggle with hair repainting. I struggle to make black hair different with either gimp or photoshop I can't do it. If there anyone with any tip or opinions for me to do the edit with please pm me or reply to this.

Changing the color of things is pretty easy with Photoshop. Simply If you go to

Images>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation

Images>Adjustments>Color Balance

. Either or will change the color for you.
