Did you try to reinstall imvu? Do you have the lastest version?
You can try to download imvulite made by DataMine: https://www.imvumafias.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=179&t=8013
(There are pretty cool features like creator without VIP, mute people, camera unlocked like in the shop,...)

Try clearing the imvu cache in configuration> advanced> clean imvu cache and restart.
or deleted temp and %temp%
or deleted temp and %temp%
