I have been with Xbox since the original and this generation between the original One, S and X. Therefore it has been my primary console and where I play the most and with friends and my family. In short is is great.
I play 90% of 3rd party games on Xbox, especially now that I have the X, they simply look and play better in most cases. Controversial comments lol.
That said the Switch has been where I have slowly preferred to purchase local multiplayer and couch co-op games. Simply because we often use this system for Mario Tennis, Mario Kart or Smash Bros so it is very local focused.
That said I did find myself playing Fortnite there instead of Xbox because it was portable but I haven't played in months now. Looking forward to cross play / progression for smite!
Purchased a PS4 about a year ago, soley in advance of Spider Man... Ended up playing The Last of Us and God of War, two games that have easily risen into my favorite of all time. Cannot beilieve the quality of those two titles alone. Insane.
Also got the PSVR, mostly because Microsoft seems to have no interest in VR which is too bad. Love it so far, especially Astro Bot another insanely good PS exclusive.
As we close the gen out, Xbox is still my go-to mostly because my friends play there but also because 3rd party titles are going to look much much better than my OG PS4.
However the quality of PS exclusives can not be beaten, and I imagine a lot of my time as this gen wraps up will be spent catching up on the titles I missed and on The Last of Us II. Unfortunately I am not very confiednt that Microsoft will have any great exclusives left before we roll into next generation.
However with all their acquisitions, they are primed to come out swinging for the fences next generation really hoping they have some huge suprised up their sleeves.
I'm screwed for the next generation though, I now will NEED a PS system in my life to continue through God of War and Spider-Man alone.
This pretty much sums up my thoughts regarding the topic.
