The IMVU service could not be reached. Please check your internet connection and try again. urlopen error [Errno 10054] An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host>

Answer from IMVU

This error was being encountered mostly when users tried to upgrade to the latest client version - 488.0. This was a result of some of the measures we added last night to prevent attacks against our connections. The issue has been fixed and you should be able to upgrade now without encountering this error.

Could just be the client you tried to download is simply to old. IMVU recently changed everything to secure http (https). I imagine that will affect older clients as well. Why are you looking to install an old version?

Does anyone know if 531.6 is supported by vu? i tried downloading it and it can't connect to the servers.

I notice the clients before 525 dont work at all does anyone have any idea why and if there is a way to bypass?

Is there any usefulness to using old clients ? Why would anyone need an older version ? What exactly was added in the new ones that someone needs to avoid ?
Are the less stable ? Is there a lagg issue that occured starting with a specific version of the imvu client ?
Was something excluded that we don;t have on the mafia tool clients ?
I haven't followed the update logs on the imvu clients at all, so I seem to be out of the loop regarding this issue.
