I've always wondered. Why do people within the mafia community always circumvent the word whom's meaning is defined as "an attempt to exploit a computer system or a private network inside a computer" as h4c|< instead of the actual word. Is it a code of conduct? Laws and principles? Morals? I'm curious to know why.

@Celebrimbor

Covert leet speak. It prevents our site from showing up on google searches for the word, as well as other search engines, and flies us under the radar of various spider bots / data scrapers. We do several other similar word replacements. Certain words just attract the wrong types of people from outside of the IMVU community and alarm civilians who don't understand our family's white hat morals.

In times of war, our operatives also have an entire list of code words they are required to use when communicating with each other. Again, this is to prevent scanners / loggers ran by third parties from picking up on our activities and forewarning an enemy target. Leave no trace, leave no trail, no calling cards, no sounding trumpets to arms, no bragging, in and out without a sign. What mafia?

As this card burns, may my soul burn in Hell if I betray the oath of Omerta.
