So I know a lot of people can't get IMVU working with wine because when you close a tab it closes the program so I'm going to tell you how to get past that.

Step 1: Install Wine & PlayOnLinux (Should Be In The Official Repositories)

Step 2: Open Up PlayOnLinux & Go to Tools > Manage Wine Versions. Find 3.1 and click it then click the little arrow at the side.

Step 3: Click Install At The Top Of The Program and Click "Install a non-listed program at the bottom left of the window that popped up

Step 4: A New Window Will Pop Up. Keep Clicking Next Until You Have To Type In The Virtual Drives Name (example: IMVU1) Then Click Next

Step 5: Click Use Another Wine Version & Choose 3.1 & 32 Bit

Step 6: Wait For It To Make The Virtual Drive Then A New Window Will Pop Up, Click Browse & Choose Your Windows IMVU Installer & Click Next

Step 7: Just Follow The Normal Install Process For IMVU, Once It Shows The Login Screen Close It

Step 8: Choose IMVUClient.exe & Click Next. Give It A Name & Click Next Again. Once The Window Comes Back Just Click I Dont Want To Make Another Shortcut.

You're finished. :D A Shortcut Should Be On Your Desktop Now.

If You Want To Add The Shortcut To Your Menu The Shortcut Will Be: /usr/share/playonlinux/playonlinux --run "(YOUR SHORTCUT NAME)" %F

NO BRACKETS JUST THERE TO SHOW WHERE SHORTCUT NAME GOES

You Can Also Do This Process Multiple Times With Different Virtual Drive & Shortcut Names & Run Multiple Instances Of IMVU At The Same Time.

Edit: The Latest Version Of Wine Fixed The Tab Issue but IMVU Runs Worse Not Doing This Method

Thanks for the info. If you tried multiple instances, does it run smoother than windows or still the same?

@GenericNameWhich step of those instructions is what allows it to not crash on tab change?

@Don Von Alpha Dom

3.1 is the version I use of wine. It's the wine version that stops the crashing but the latest version of wine seems stable but slower.

It threw error, I think it is an emulator of an obsolete Windows, (Windows 2000, etc). Hopefully it works in one nice Windows XP.
