A friend of mine has a popular room that I help mod. Recently we've been getting people that are shown as being in the room, but don't have an avi present. They never talk and just lurk. It only happens rarely but tonight I booted one of these phantom visitors only for another one to come in straight after. I'm strictly a Classic only user and wondering if this is a mobile thing or something less savory?

Does anyone know what causes this?

Usually these users are new IMVU users who may still be getting familliar with the IMVU platform, slow loading, fake account's or who simply don't understand the language spoken in the room. Also, I think this post fit's better on the IMVU Lounge category - I still don't get what the category we're in is for, honestly. lol.

If you don't feel safe with the user, you can boot them and notify the room owner about it. Once the room owner blocks the user, the user will not be able to return to the owner's rooms.

There is no avatar for this user at all. Their name shows up, but there is no avatar... It's like a phantom user?
With my limited knowledge of mobile, I know you can have rooms with up to 100 participants, and only 10 avatars will show, however this room shouldn't be set up for that. I was able to boot them via clicking on their name in chat (I.E. [User] has entered the room) and showing their profile card that way, but I can't click on the name along the bar that kinda shows where the avatars location is, and as I move the camera around the room, the name doesn't move within the bar. I also can't boot from clicking on their avatar and using the boot button because again, no avatar is present.

Just find it a bit odd, but TBF, I may be paranoid because the room owner has recently been victim to a troll group that has gotten all of their rooms removed from featured. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this through classic?

As a security measure, I'll just boot and message the username to the owner to black list.

Oh, yes! Don can be right! But I really don't know why they would do that, but... I've never seen anything like it, not through Classic or other Clients.
