not sure if this is true but i just heard from a friend that SL is buying VU. he heard it from some friends cuz SL people were talking about it. im not sure how long ago he heard about this but i just looked it up and couldn't really find anything on it.....not sure how many people on here also play SL...i dont play SL myself so i cant really say much...

i dont play sl and if what your friend said is true, i wouldnt be surprised bc both are the largest avatar based games. ownin' both would bring in alot of money and i think they would still be their own thing and not combine into one huge avatar game

I would be extremely surprised if SL bought any other VR game. SL just sold Sansar back in 2020, so they could focus on SL. SL has a history of selling off side projects to focus on SL more. Buying another one would go against their goals; unless they plan on cannibalizing IMVU's tech and then selling the used corpse after they are done taking whatever they need / want from it.

as a Sl player I honestly doubt it would happen

only cause SL is growing player base by the month compared to VU and lindenlabs not really the ones to buy another avatar based game when they cant update there own avatar game

Doubt it would happen as linden labs is trying to focus on gaining more users towards secondlife and improving the ease of making an avatar with new avatars that are mesh with bom to replace the classic ones which are old but if this were true I could only think how much the prices might raise on imvu lol.

or how much linden labs could make over all if they did buy imvu out but I agree on what you said

Yes, I wonder what new features they would bring to.

So ... reading through some of the Second Life developer blogs; it does look like they are currently working on a mobile version of second life that looks extremely similar to IMVU mobile; to better compete with IMVU.
