I read in two or maybe three threads here and there how you should publish 1-2 products daily, but it never explains why. Why does it have to be every day? Does it have something to do with the algorithm? Would creating, say, 20 or 40 products a day for a few days suffice for the next couple of weeks?

Lemme explain you why is it best to publish daily because there is a filter in shop like best match newest products price low to high high to low and all
Let's take an example of what u thought posting 60 in a day it will make ur 60 products appear together in newest section but then boom in other days all other products will stack over it and where will ur products will at the bottom of list

And now we consider 2-3 products a day it will keep making ur catalog products appear in newest section every day not every person visit shop daily so in posting 60 in day will just make miss out your shop.

And in daily posting there is more chance that ur shop will reach to everyone if They like your product in most case they gonna visit your shop

It is a tendency of customer, and if u think u gonna post 60 one day it's practically will be killing ur shop as u gonna release everything u have in one go then In whole month people will forget you.

And yeah if you can post like 20 products a day then it's better, the amount of products doesn't matter matter is the frequency of releasing products, you will be able to provide a nice time to each product because people are picky with what they want when there is kinda like lots of products in shop. Because pro creators make things cheap and more good quality and they know how market works so if u need a pie of market you gotta give the time daily.

in the past if you published 20-25 products you got instant peer review intead of days or hrs to pass.

That was a few years ago. It was replaced with tire 2, and then tire 3. Last year they replaced it with chatting twice per week for 6 weeks. No idea what the requirements are this year for fast peer review access.

Can I submit multiple items to the catalogue in a single day, but only publish 1-2 items for peer review every day? Does that work? Or do I really have to make everything from scratch every day. I hope I make sense.

No one knows this year's requirements yet. People are still trying to figure those out. They change yearly, on September 1st.
