Hello again. I am very new to creating and have read a couple of topics on how to get free derivables and how to go further back on the derivable tree to save credits.
My question is is there any other tips and tricks to help a new creator get their catalog going? Survey and offers only five promo credits so is the only way to get credits for creation buying them. I’m also relatively new to imvu and am still learning about how things work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the community, Phoenix.

I would highly recommend to avoid getting into creating with the mindset of making credits, that's going to lead to disappointment and burnout real fast. Start off by making things you want to make, either because you need them or just for fun. This will give you experience with developing and over time you can gauge what is selling well in your catalog and focus more on that. One of my most sold products is a couch I textured just because I needed one for my room and wanted to see what my style of textures would look like on it. I didn't care one way or the other if it made any sales.

I would also highly recommend learning to mesh, it will open up a world of new possibilities that will increase your earning potential. SketchUP is a good starting point and you can find tutorials on our site HERE. Blender is also a good choice as it's much more powerful and once you learn it, it's a lot easier than SketchUP. I've bean meaning to write up some tutorials soon and I would like to teach some classes on Discord as well.

So far I’ve only made a few things. Mostly recolors because I am ocd and I need my fits to match properly. Haha
I do want to learn to mesh. Again, mostly because I’m ocd and have trouble finding exactly the derivable I want.
I will check out SketchUp. I was looking into Blender but the learning curve looks steep.
I have always loved to design so I really got into just for fun. I had already met a couple of creators and knew there really wasn’t a lot of credits to be made. I did expect to have a few more credits to make more things though.
Anyway, thank you for the suggestions and the welcome.

I know that all to well, that's why i created that couch I was talking about. I've either meshed or textured every product in my room because I want it all to match and meat my quality standards, lol.

It's a bit steep at first but the payoff is so worth it and to be honest, learning to make basic furniture products is actually pretty easy. I need to get my ass in gear and write up a few tutorials. In the mean time I could teach on our Discord server (https://discord.gg/BNqxvra)

The credits will come when you get a catalog built up. I'm also willing to support an aspiring creator. I don't use my credits for anything, they sit there gathering dust.

That sounds good, thanks. Yes, I have joined the discord server and will check it out as well. I think I’m going to need all the help I can get.
