Oh boy, a family lottery? You guys might as well bring up politics at Christmas dinner. How many ticket did you buy, haha

No, no haha. More a case of my grandparents buying me a lottery ticket every holiday season as a fun "what if" and stocking stuffer. I entered a competition for the equivalent of €10, which I would usually never even dream of spending on a gamble, but figured fuck it considering it's a first and it was a smaller pool for 500k, not the main lottery - so slightly better odds.

But if you mean here, I just bought the max of 10 for the same reasoning above. I stopped playing the lottery a while ago, swear I'm cursed haha. Bought the max a few times, but otherwise I'd just buy a single ticket. Honestly I am not really the gambling type anyway, so it's kind of fitting. Probably better to bank 500 medits a week instead.

Oh, I was imagining a family lottery where everyone buys tickets to win some random reward at the family dinner, lol. Well here let me toss ya some medits as a holiday gift so you can play the lottery a couple times. Everyone should win it at least once :)

OH no, no haha! Just literally buying a ticket or scratch-off as a rare "give it a try" kind of thing. Kind of funny if you consider my grandmother and mother have both worked in finance all their life haha. Aw, appreciate it though!! I'll admit, I expected better odds than I got for the number of times played and tickets bought, but I'm not much of a gambler. Just part of the game, it's all good.

Haha, I don't know why but this reminded me of the movie Jerry & Marge Go Large where and older couple find a lophole in the lottery that allows them to win during Rolldown weeks and they use it to revive their town. It was a good movie, I recommend it.

@terryracer
is getting pretty lucky lately, he's won it twice in a row. Maybe ask him what his secret is xD. Though looking at the lottery's code again, there's actually supposed to be a chance that nobody wins, but looking at the history, that hasn't happened in a while. So it seems the odds of winning are pretty good.

Ya know, even though I live in the gambling capital of the U.S. I'm not a fan of gambling. It's usually addictive and predatory targeting people that can't afford it and is purposely vague on the chances. Don't even get me started on the gambling culture in videos games and streaming :cursemouth:

That said, I don't really consider our lottery gambling. I mean I know it technically is but since we play with and for our own virtual currency that can't be traded for anything in rl, and is 100% optional..it somehow feels different, better in a way. Or maybe I'm wrong and I'm just deluding myself, lol.

Damn, you got quite a nice sum in the bank and on hand. Man, we really need some more things to spend medits on.

Hahaha, I wish it was a scheme that successful! Aw, I feel ya though. I'm also not a fan of the predatory nature and what often comes with it. Beyond that, I just prefer working in certainties y'know? If you have me the option of 50% chance of taking 100k, or a 100% chance of taking only 25k? I think I'd go for the 25. Just don't really see the appeal of gambling more often than not, especially if it's high stakes or expensive in any way. I'll periodically enter a competition where it costs €2 or something if I'm in a good mood or 'feel lucky', but that's always been the extent of it. Ironically too, I am very pro-lottery. I think it's good for the economy, for the most part. Everyone puts in a meaningless amount, but a lucky few win and get to invest that money back into the economy, ontop of it improving their lives. Win-win. I know it works out poorly for a few people, the types who aren't responsible and the like, but still. Add to that the fact that various corportate entities also put some money into that pot and use it a means of transferring some to charities and the like? Just a good thing all the way around, at least in principle.

You're right though, I don't really think the Medit Lottery is gambling so much as a game, outside of technicality. It's why I've always been more open to it and entered numerous times, either with 1 ticket, or with 10. Reminds me of some of the old Facebook, MySpace and VampireFreaks games and I'm all for it. Now I will pretend I don't feel old.

I feel this pretty hard. Tried to get a long-standing friend on it, dude adamantly refused, threw a small fit and made a bunch of uniformed excuses. Still, I respect their decision.
