Hahaha, I wish it was a scheme that successful! Aw, I feel ya though. I'm also not a fan of the predatory nature and what often comes with it. Beyond that, I just prefer working in certainties y'know? If you have me the option of 50% chance of taking 100k, or a 100% chance of taking only 25k? I think I'd go for the 25. Just don't really see the appeal of gambling more often than not,
especially if it's high stakes or expensive in any way. I'll periodically enter a competition where it costs €2 or something if I'm in a good mood or 'feel lucky', but that's always been the extent of it. Ironically too, I am very pro-lottery. I think it's good for the economy, for the most part. Everyone puts in a meaningless amount, but a lucky few win and get to invest that money back into the economy, ontop of it improving their lives. Win-win. I know it works out poorly for a few people, the types who aren't responsible and the like, but still. Add to that the fact that various corportate entities also put some money into that pot and use it a means of transferring some to charities and the like? Just a good thing all the way around, at least in principle.
You're right though, I don't really think the Medit Lottery is gambling so much as a game, outside of technicality. It's why I've always been more open to it and entered numerous times, either with 1 ticket, or with 10. Reminds me of some of the old Facebook, MySpace and VampireFreaks games and I'm all for it. Now I will pretend I don't feel old.

I feel this pretty hard. Tried to get a long-standing friend on it, dude adamantly refused, threw a small fit and made a bunch of uniformed excuses. Still, I respect their decision.
