Although my creations or products aren't that much or that fancy, mostly radio meshes, random, and such but I just requested that iPort for myself too. I have yet to find out how that works in actual if or when I get it. I actually just read about that a day or so.

I like the features it offers but I've been using MeshOut for so long, it's gonna take some getting use to once I get it working.

Download Google Sketchup and meshout, then just start making simple stuff like cubes and what not. Once you learn the development process (exporting -> loading files into create mode etc...) then start moving on to more complicated meshes and maybe 3ds max.

Alternatively, you could start out as a deriver. Derive from people's meshes and learn to create texture. If you need a free graphics program, I suggest paint.net or gimp. Photoshop is what you'd really want if you can get a copy though.

I wouldn't, 2013 is the latest version that works with meshout the last time I checked and I haven't found any other exporters that work for sketchup. I do keep a copy of 2013 and 2015 installed though but I only use 2013 for IMVU related meshes.

I have a few programs that might be of interest to some of you who use sketchup. I need to get my post count up so will post each program in a separate reply. Please note that i havent written any of these programs but are the programs i use. If you need any help with any of these programs then just pm me and i will try to help you as best i can.

First program is Meshout v0.4.33

This program was mainly written for exporting your sketchup files into files that imvu client recognises. Best thing about this program is that not only does it export your files but you can also add room nodes for the ceiling, floor and walls, and also standing nodes and sitting nodes....it will also renumber all the poses giving each one a unique number. From meshout you can also add a camera to your room, and so long as you group all the parts of the camera you can move it to where you want in the room which is good for setting the area of the room you want people to see when they first enter the room.

Roadkill is a program that once you have textured your model in sketchup you can use to take a map of your models textures and save it as a jpg etc so that you can use them in an image editing software such as gimp to place details accruatley. there are 2 files for this program...1 the exe file and the other an instructions manual.

If you have ever gone to develop an item from someone elses mesh and have seen like a wire mesh type picture underneath the desription (especially with clothes), then this is what roadkill does. It enables developers to make their own textures to add details where they want them to show on the mesh.

Next program up is called Balancer. I have only used this program a couple times but worked great for me. If you make a poly heavy mesh or shows up heavy in imvu then you can use this program to lower the mesh file size within sketchup.

Next is the version of sketchup I use, sketchup 8 (non pro). This version has everything i want and need and together with the other plugins work great. I know that all the extra little prgrams that meshout has to offer all work and also so does the file editor plug in......i dont use file editor but have tried it and know it works. is used to attach meshes to bones (i think)....sorry to be vague on that one but trust me it works with sketchup 8

Next up is Tgi3D. This program allows you to wrap a texture around a tube, or sphere, etc. I have used this program and it does work. Is 100 x better than projecting an image or splicing your texture to fit around the individual segments of your mesh. Takes a bit of practice but well worth the effort.

However......I no longer use this program and now use SketchUV. Unfortunate this is a paid for program (very cheap for what you get) and works with a serial. This program does an amazing job of wrapping textures seamlessly, and is well worth the price should you be looking to do texture wrapping.

I hope these programs will be of use to some of you mafia meshers and like i said before, if i can be of any help dont hesitate to contact me.

I have one other very useful program that i want to share with you all but for the time being am not posting it until I have learned how to post it securely, so watch for that coming up in the near future
