A way to view under 18 chat rooms?

Hi,
So I recently turned 18 and all my under 18 chat rooms I usually see are gone (I know its because now I'm over 18). However, most of my friends/group of people I hang out with are in the under 18. I'm more familiar with the under 18 culture, humor etc, and I like that. I know I can save rooms via the IMVU website (save their URL's), but I was wondering if there is a way I could browse/view all of them. Most of my friends have locations turned off so its a bit annoying.

I know there is a way where I can just make an under 18's account on the IMVU website and browse chat rooms from the website and get the join URL to join the room with my actual account but I don't want to do that. I'd probably get banned for age misrepresentation...

This is possibly something I could add to T3DE. The Chat Rooms mode is one of the main areas I target in T3DE. I've successfully added new filters to the mode as well as the ability to see ap/vip rooms on any account (though not joinable).

I would like to do some research when I get some time on filtering rooms by gender as well so perhaps when I get around to that I can look into remove the age filter.

Of course I could always trick the client into believing any account is under 18 but this could have negative side effects.

I'm a bit skeptical in using modified clients. Someone just got banned for using it.

I just found a really cool trick. Check out the this person's AVATAR card: Vices

Maybe you can tell us how to do this? Different font + glow. Pretty sure its just some sort of inject in the IMVU Account page url (like how you use to do no relationship, origination and here for status)

They didn't get banned for using IMVULite, they got perma banned for something unrelated and were saying that they still get banned using new accounts while using IMVULite which is something it's supposed to help protect against.

I don't know of any way to modify your own avatar card that's visible to other people without them having some sort of script installed. It's possible to change the avatar card of other people but it's only visible to you. What is the url injection you speak of?

EDIT: Unless you're viewing their avatar card from their homepage, then it might be possible they included css to modify the avatar card.

Nope, viewing on the IMVU client. Its pretty popular actually.
http://www.imvu.com/catalog/modules.php ... p&t=558957

And I think its basically a chrome bookmark (injects javascript) that modifies the tagline through the IMVU account webpage.

Hmm, well this is the first time I've heard or seen anything about it.

While that would be possible, I don't see how that would effect how others see the card. In order for someone to see the changes they would have to have the script installed. Judging by what I've read, these people don't have anything installed.

No no, you don't get what I mean. So this is what I mean

1. There is a javascript chrome bookmark.
2. This code bypasses IMVU's ability to filter out the html or whatever (I'm not so good with this and understand it)
3. You got to http://www.imvu.com/catalog/web_myaccount.php
4. You press the bookmark
5. it applies it.

If you view these profiles on the website it shows “<style>body{font-Family:"Vinque";text-shadow:0 0 6px #ffccaa;}</style>oh my!” (I used the profile card viewer). However on client, it actually works

This is easy. Just make a second under 18 account. Login to your over 18 account in the client and login to your under 18 account on the website. Then search for under 18 rooms here: http://www.imvu.com/rooms/

You can use the join buttons on the website to send your over 18 account into the under 18 rooms.

That's what I was thinking. I have zero ideas how this is working for people. Bookmarklets and addon-ons scripts only work locally on your browser.

As I mentioned above, the only way I can think of to modify an avatar card in a way that other people see it is to put code on your homepage. But that would only effect your card when viewed on your homepage, no where else.

And of course theirs modifying the client, but then only people running that modified client would see the effects.

This would be a better idea than trying to change your avatar card...It might just lead you to be disabled for something not worth being disabled....This is worth a try...Enjoy...You know being 18 has a lot to offer too....enjoy it! belated Happy Birthday!
