Here is a very reliable site to download meshes for 3D Max, http://artist-3d.com/
So about IMVU's create is important:
1. Reduce polygons and adjust the mesh with nodes provided
2. Make sure the mesh is free of copyright
3. Always insert a doll "furni" to accommodate the size of the mesh
4. Good luck!

Is it possible to import poses using FBX to be used for imvu?
